Hi all! For anyone I don't know, I'm Tri, and I'm here to try out Auri from Patrick Rothfuss's Kingkiller Chronicles. This is definitely an experiment, because Auri is going to be A CHALLENGE to get close to. If you and your characters are willing to be very careful and gentle and patient, though, she's whimsical and clever and can be a delight. I love her. Hopefully we can make something work.

A bit about Auri!

She's very skittish around people. She spends most of her time underground setting places and inanimate objects to rights on a small scale. She was a student of Alchemy and Naming (the true names and nature of things). It's likely that the latter is the reason her mind doesn't work along ordinary lines anymore, possibly with some trauma also playing a part. If she were caught, she would be put into Haven, which is the University's version of a mental institution. Instead, she has lived in a network of tunnels under the university for years. Auri's mind broke, but in a way that left her smart and well able to take care of herself. Though she was clearly admitted to the university quite young, she's also older than she looks.

(If you're canonblind and looking for a more well-known example of the sort of broken her mind is and the way she sees the world, Auri and River Tam might get along swimmingly.)

We have several new people in game and I wanted to remind everyone that Itinere is what you make of it! Take initiative and have some fun, help build this world for your other players and run wild!

I just wanted to redirect your attention to some ways to enhance your game play experience!

  • Item Request - Have a big ticket item you want to show up in Itinere? Request it here and we'll probably have a little fun with how it gets to your character or how your character finds it.

  • Residence & Business Claim - Want to claim an apartment from the sentient apartment complex or bring a personal home here from your world? We can make that happen. Want to start a business or work at one of the current businesses? That can happen too!

  • Player Contact - Need to contact a fellow player to plot something or get in on one of their business ventures or anything else? This is a private, player locked post where you can figure out who plays who and get in touch with them!

  • Suggest a plot - Have an idea for a gamewide plot that you want us to initiate? Suggest it here! We can easily work with you.

    As always, if it's a smaller plot that isn't game breaking feel free to use the OOC network and set up a plotting post. Again, we're easy and will work with you however you want. This game is laid back and is here for you to make of it what you will!

    Hello everyone!

    My name is Alex, and I will be roleplaying Alexander Hamilton in the group. I'm pretty new to roleplaying, and Jenny introduced me to the group and convinced me to take up Hamilton. I'm super excited to join and look forward to meeting you all!

    I'm still debating on how I want to introduce Alexander. He's a very strongly opinionated man and tends to run his mouth off, getting himself into plenty of trouble. However, he's also feisty and passionate, seeing the causes he believes in to the end (even if it kills him), and being steadfast in his loyalty to friends. I'm really excited to explore his character!

    Hi all! My name is Nao and I'm completely new to game. I'm bringing in one demi-god kid by the name of Percy Jackson from the same series title. Um, so, I got a invite from Kristi a long while ago, but only recently decided to take her up on it. I think I know some of you already, but to those I don't, here's me saying an extra HI. Anyways, Percy is easiest to describe as a teenager who is kind and loyal to his friends, to a fault even.

    I hear there's an event going on, but I have yet to see how I can jump in. So I'm open to suggestions. Otherwise plotting for a proper intro of some sort will happen soon.

    Just an FYI, I've traded Dragon Age protagonists - Inquisitor for Champion. To make things simpler, I'm having Alaina be Hawke's Inquisitor, but with a slightly altered World State.     Hey there :) I'm Jen, for those who don't already know me (I also have Lydia Martin [teen wolf], Cisco Ramon [the flash], and Cameron Scordato [oc] and I'm not big on ooc intros because I know nobody really uses them, but...this character in particular kind of needs one, because she comes with an opt-in/opt-out which is pretty important for me to navigate to how she'll interact with your characters.

    This is Bo Adams, age 12, from NBC's very short-lived show Believe, although she's a crau. She's an empath and a psychic with a whole host of powers, but most importantly, she's a telepath and an empath. She struggles more with the thoughts than she does with the feelings, but either way, that's a thing, so I'd love for you guys to check in on her opt-in/opt-out to let me know whether or not it's okay with you for her to interact in that way with your character(s), please and thank you ♥

    It's been really hard living without basic necessities, hasn't it? The creators of your home haven't much enjoyed it either. Although, needless to say, they repaired their living space first. Happy, clean and well-fed workers make happy productivity! They did get that nasty creature, or the remains of it and its minions, out of your way. Isn't that nice of them?

    By the latter part of January, as those final days of the first of the month of your new year start ticking down, your world starts to rebuild itself almost like a wound healing. Mountains reform. The water in the 'ocean' clears of blood and debris. The buildings start to re-materialize from the bottom up at a rapid pace. Rivers flow and the air smells less like death. Grocers and clothiers shops restock and reopen for business. In fact, every shop that was there before from music to baubles to clothing to books seems to found its feet again.

    By the first of February, most of your world is as it was, including those big blue doors you came through to get here.


    Things of note:
  • The city scape of Itinere will return to what it was building wise.
  • All those little personalized items that your character imagined up for themselves, those will have to be re-imagined.
  • The glass overhead has been repaired and once again looks like Earth's sky with the day to day 24 hour cycle of sun and moon.
  • For the rest of January and February it will rain two to three times a week to wash away any remaining blood and guts and whatever else.
  • Those cool weapons that appeared during the attack to help you slay the beast, you can keep those. For now.

    It might seem like all hope is lost. Near the end of November and by the beginning of December the buildings have both crumbled and been chomped down to rubble at your feet. The forest has been laid waste to. Even the mountains in the distance look smaller. The network system is down. All those PDA's you use, they're no longer working. The very city itself creaks and groans and shudders as if it's in pain, as if the life is being drained out of it. Could it be that the city is a living and breathing thing too? So many questions. Not an answer in sight.

    The spawn of the creature over the dome feast on what's left. Each time you think you've made a dent in them, more come in. What will they feast on where there is nothing but earth left? So far they've only become violent toward a person who gets in their way or who they see kill their kind. Make no mistake that you look tasty to them too, Itinere populace, they'll start getting around to trying to eat you... pretty much now. On top of that, several fissures and cracks appear in the dome overhead beneath the massive beast on the outside.

    Where are the people who seem to run this place? Do they even care? Of course they do. Itinere is their creation. They work very hard to sustain this place, to make it livable, to make the monkeys inside dance for their entertainment. Victor, Brig and Korie and their minions of Engineers have been hard at work while the city crumbles.

    Within a week into the month, weapons begin to appear at random around the fallen city. They may seem like nothing to the passerby. But when they are picked up, when they touch skin, they spark to life with a bright electrical current that shifts between blue, yellow, red, green and purple. It'd definitely not anything familiar to any of the city's inhabitants. There are swords, daggers, axes and staffs. There are shields and bows with electric bolts to shoot. There are even gloves that when worn spark to life for hand-to-hand combat. These weapons kill the spawn as well as any other weapon has, easily enough. But the more you kill with them, the more you will notice the creature outside the dome moving as if it itself is uncomfortable. It's been very still so far, just latching onto the exterior. But now, massive tentacles start to shift and move. The suckers start to glow the same colors as the electrical current on the gifted weapons. Razor sharp teeth snap and scratch at the dome. The spawn will start to diminish as the creature loses control.

    On the 10th of December, one large tentacle slams down to shatter the exterior. A blue shield goes up in its place to protect the populace from the outter elements. (Thanks Korie) The creature slinks in and it's time to go to work. It's too big for the people to kill on their own. Victor will send in reinforcements. An army of Technicians comes in, each of them carrying similar weapons as the ones given to you in the previous days. If you work together, the beast may be slain.


    Things of note:
  • Death is non-perm. Those who get killed (if any) will reappear within 24 hours.
  • The glass that crashes down is thick and sharp. Try to avoid it. Or, not.
  • After the beast is slain, Korie's Technicians will simply disappear.
  • After the beast is slain, there will definitely be a feeling of 'now what?'. Your muses will have to make do as they are for awhile. No electricity, all of that is being used to keep the shield in place. No water. They will be sending in some familiar beasts to slay and cook such as deer, boar, etc.
  • In the following days rubble and glass will start to simply disapear, a sign that work is being done to repair things.

    On September 1st, the folks in charge of this place will set up a great Masquerade party in the pavillion by the park. Isn't that nice of them? It's their way of apologizing for the lights out incident. Lucky for all of you, Itinere has a way of providing those things you really want/need. As always, Itinere will meet your needs before you even know that you need them! Everyone will find the masquerade costume and mask of their dreams in their closets. Everything you might need to look your best will be provided. It will be a lovely evening of wining and dining and dancing. So much fun! Right?

    Your brilliant Engineer, Korrie, who occasionally has something up his sleeve, (let's face it, he does like his experiments) will have doped the champagne. Even a sip will put a toxin in each individual that will kick in the moment that person goes to bed that night. It will put the drinker into a deep sleep that will last from a few days to up to a week. No longer than a week. This is a dream sharing event. Only these dreams will be nightmares. The toxin will bring out your nightmares and other people can find themselves trapped in your dreams with you.

    Sleep tight! Don't let the Engineer bite!


    Things of note.
  • A Masquerade mingle will be put up on the 1st.
  • Nightmare posts will be individual for you to put up if you choose to play with that part of the event.
  • Please be sure to use warnings for the nightmares if necessary. The nature of some of them will probably be pretty dark.
  • You can take bottles from the party and oops on nightmares later in the month. Whatever!
  • Nightmares can bleed into each other. Threading with someone in nightmare land? You can work it out with them so that their nightmare bleeds into yours and vice versa.
  • Korrie will be watching the show. He'll get to see everything. (He sees everything anyway). If you want him to make an appearance in your nightmare, or tweak things a certain way for extra dramaz, let us know here. He can be a puppetmaster.
  • When you wake up, the nightmare is over. You choose how long it lasts up to a week.
  • Want to opt out? Drink something not champagne. Smart move!

    Hi guys! Thank you for indulging Lisa and my's ridiculous need for easy going fun rp things. Welcome to Itinere. This is a place that you guys can have a lot of input if you want it. In a few days, we will put up a welcome event mingle. However, you're all welcome to introduce your characters now and play with each other now. You have a lot of options in introducing your character. You can do a network post via the PDA your character gets upon arrival. You can do an action post or you can do a combination of those two. You can play with your character freaking out about this place, or you can play it that they've been here a while and figured things out. They can have been here for months if you like, just be aware any pre-existing CR needs to be planned out with others.

    Outside of that, do you guys have any questions? Ask away, I'll be happy to answer them. You can use this as an ooc/planning plot too and introduce yourself.

    Players are allowed to have private residences and businesses. As they are added to the game, they will be added here. The entire city is Sentient as far as this goes. It will anticipate the needs/wants of its citizens. If your muse decides they need something, they will find it in their apartment, from amenities to furniture to entire rooms. If your muse decides they want to start a business the City will make it happen. If your muse wants their own private residence, the Cit will make it happen. This can be used to add dimensions to your game play but is not required.
